RGIK Seminar Series

Our seminar series serves as a cornerstone of the RGIK community, offering a valuable platform to share innovative research, foster collaboration, and advance the collective understanding of rock glaciers. These seminars bring together experts, researchers, and community members, creating the space for exchanging ideas, sparking meaningful discussions, and building connections across disciplines and geographical borders. The impact of these sessions extends beyond the presentations and discussions themselves, fueling new ideas, inspiration, and collaborations to drive progress. To see upcoming and previous topics and presentations, refer to the tables below.

Interested in presenting during the RGIK Seminar Series?

We invite you to share your work with a dynamic, global community of researchers in the Rock Glacier Inventories and Kinematics (RGIK) Seminar Series. This ongoing series offers a platform to showcase innovative methods, fieldwork insights, applications and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding rock glacier systems in a warming climate. If you would like to present during one of the semesters, please contact us at info@rgik.org!

RGIK Community Surveys

RGIK launched two (2) community surveys to compile a record of worldwide overviews of existing/planned Rock Glacier Inventories (RoGI) and Rock Glacier Velocity (RGV) time-series. The purpose of these surveys is to get an estimate of what exists in the community, as well as an overview of planned initiatives, regardless of their format/content. The surveys are on-going initiative and have no deadline for completion. You can also engage with these surveys to help us determine what the current status of rock glacier products.
